The Senate Judiciary Committee has voted in favor of U.S. Magistrate Judge Jane E. Magnus-Stinson's nomination for a federal judgeship.

At an executive business meeting at 10 a.m., the committee approved her nomination to the Southern District of Indiana by a voice vote without objection. The full Senate must now OK her nomination, and if confirmed she would succeed U.S. Judge Larry McKinney who took senior status in July 2009.
