U.S. Magistrate Judge Tim A. Baker has been appointed by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. to serve as chair of the Federal Judicial Center’s U.S. Magistrate Judge Education Advisory Committee.
Magistrate Baker, of the U.S. District Court’s Southern District of Indiana, was first appointed to the committee in 2008. As chair, he’ll take a leading role in planning and evaluating the educational programs for magistrate judges across the country. The committee also trains new magistrates at seminars and national workshops.
Magistrate Baker said he was honored to be selected for the position and looks forward to continuing to provide federal judges with high-quality legal education training. He’ll serve as chair through 2014.
