Dear Mr. Maurer:

You do not know me, but I feel compelled to write to applaud your legislative initiative to rid Indiana of the scourge of diversity (Indiana Lawyer March 30-April 12, 2011). My one concern is your failure to include a particularly insidious group in the “Purple Hat Club.” These are the weak-kneed individuals who actually support the rights of other purple-hatters to exist in Indiana without discrimination and abuse. It is these individuals, whose efforts to subvert the will of the moral minority through confusing rhetoric and finely veiled threats of political retribution, who must be conspicuously branded and removed from the state post haste. I do not know your hat size sir, but mine is an 8½ and purple brings out the color in my eyes.
