Two new members have been appointed to serve on the Indiana State Board of Law Examiners, according to an order signed May 4 by Chief Justice Brent Dickson.

Jeffry A. Lind was appointed to the board to replace Les Shively, whose term expired at the end of last year. Lind is a past president of the Indiana State Bar Association. He founded the Lind Law Firm in 2011 and formerly was a partner with Fleschner Stark Tanoos & Newlin, both in Terre Haute. Lind’s term runs through 2016.

Longtime Notre Dame law professor J. Eric Smithburn was appointed to fill a second vacancy on the board. Smithburn will complete the final year of Maria Pabon Lopez’s term and was appointed for a successive term that runs through 2017.

Pabon Lopez, formerly a professor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, last year accepted the position of dean at the College of Law at Loyola University in New Orleans.

Shively is principal attorney at Shively & Associates in Evansville.
