Dickson to be sworn in Aug. 6

July 27, 2012

Brent Dickson will be formally sworn in as chief justice of the Indiana Supreme Court Aug. 6. Gov. Mitch Daniels will administer the oath.

The public oath ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the Indiana Statehouse’s north atrium on the second floor. Dickson was appointed chief justice in May by the Indiana Judicial Nomination Commission and was sworn in that day by Justice Robert Rucker.

This ceremony will mark the change in leadership on the court. Rucker, as the next most-senior member of the court, will preside over the ceremony, which will include remarks from Daniels, Indiana Judges Association President Robyn Moberly of Marion Superior Court, and Tippecanoe County Bar Association President Patti Truitt.

The event will be recorded and posted on the court’s website at a future date.
