Indiana Supreme Court Justice Steven David has been appointed to chair the Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission.

The commission is charged with vetting and recommending appointments to Allen County’s six superior courts and making recommendations for appointments to the governor.

David was appointed by an order signed by Chief Justice Brent Dickson on Sept. 7.

The seven-member commission includes three attorney members elected by Allen County attorneys and three non-attorney members appointed by the governor. The commission is chaired by the Indiana Supreme Court chief justice or his designee.

Fort Wayne attorney and commission member James J. O’Connor said Tuesday that there are currently no judicial vacancies on the Allen Superior courts.
