Zoeller to speak at DCS study committee Thursday

Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is scheduled to appear before the Department of Child Services Interim Study Committee meeting Thursday afternoon.

The 1 p.m. meeting also includes discussion of best practices of agencies and programs that address children who are victims of abuse and neglect and a follow-up on the agency’s abuse reporting hotline. Also testifying are Dr. David Sanders, executive vice president of systems improvement at Casey Family Programs; Dean Michael Patchner, dean of the Indiana University School of Social Work; Susan Dreyfuss, president and CEO of the Alliance for Children and Families; and Paul Vincent, of Child Welfare Policy and Practice Group. The public will also offer testimony on best practice solutions.

The meeting agenda also provides information as to how the public may contact DCS directly.  The meeting will be held in the House Chambers and will be broadcast online. The last DCS interim study committee is scheduled for Oct. 25.
