Court names Tippecanoe pro tem judge to replace Rush

Senior Judge Thomas K. Milligan will serve as Tippecanoe Superior 3 judge pro tem after Loretta Rush moves from that court to take her seat on the Indiana Supreme Court Nov. 7.

The court in an Oct. 30 order named Milligan to fill the vacancy after Rush’s final day on the Tippecanoe bench. Milligan will fill in beginning Wednesday, the same day that Rush will take her oath as Indiana’s 108th justice in a private ceremony and join the court. Chief Justice Brent Dickson will administer the oath.

Rush’s public, formal swearing-in ceremony will take place Dec. 28.

Milligan served for more than 36 years as Montgomery Circuit judge prior to his retirement to senior judge status in 2010.
