Gov. Mitch Daniels has appointed Angela Warner Sims as judge of Madison Circuit Court. She succeeds Judge Rudolph Pyle III, who was appointed in August to the Indiana Court of Appeals.

Sims is the first woman appointed to sit on the bench in Madison County. She is a major felony public defender and specialty court public defender in Madison County and is an attorney at Hulse Lacey Hardacre Austin & Sims. She earned her law degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1999.

Her appointment is effective at a date to be determined.
