5 sitting jurists to judge moot court competition Friday

A panel of distinguished judges, including one from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, will be on hand Friday evening to hear final arguments in a case involving judicial recusal and eminent domain as part of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition.

7th Circuit Judge Diane S. Sykes, U.S. Judge Amy J. St. Eve of the Northern District of Illinios, Minnesota Justice David Stras and Indiana Court of Appeals Senior Judge Carr Darden and Judge Nancy Vaidik will judge the final round. This year’s competition is the largest in the law school’s history, with 165 students participating.

Friday evening’s event at 6 p.m. in Room 123 of the law school is open to the public and will be followed by a reception on the main floor. Bose McKinney & Evans LLP sponsored this year’s competition.
