The Allen Superior Court Judicial Nominating Commission will interview eight applicants April 25 for Judge Stephen Sims’ spot on the Superior Court. Sims retires Friday.

The 30-minute interviews begin at 10 a.m. and will wrap up at 3:30 p.m. The commission will then meet in executive session Thursday afternoon and Friday morning to select three candidates to send to Gov. Mike Pence, who will make the judicial appointment. Finalists will be announced Friday morning.

The applicants and interview schedule are:

10 a.m., Magistrate Craig Bobay
10:35 a.m., John Cowan
11:10 a.m., Magistrate Jennifer DeGroote
11:45 a.m., Laurie Gray
12:15 p.m., lunch and executive session
1:15 p.m., Carrie Gutman
1:50 p.m., Michael McAlexander
2:25 p.m., Michael Michmerhuizen
3 p.m., Patrick Proctor

The interviews are open to the public.
