Drew Soshnick and Denise Bowlby, both of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, smile after Denise was honored as the 2013 Paralegal of the Year. Denise was a charter member of the Paralegal Committee during the first year that paralegals were granted membership in the IndyBar (1993) and has served as a respected paralegal for more than 25 years.
May 16 was proclaimed to be “Paralegal Appreciation Day” by both Mayor Greg Ballard and Gov. Mike Pence. The proclamations note that “IndyBar paralegals are committed to excellence and professionalism as they demonstrate a high level of achievement and responsibility and adhere to a strict code of ethics.”
The assistance of qualified and competent paralegals is crucial to the success of many attorneys. This important role was highlighted with a sold-out crowd at the IndyBar’s annual Paralegal Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, May 16 at Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. In addition to the numerous “thank yous” exchanged from attorneys to paralegals throughout the room, Denise Bowlby of Faegre Baker Daniels LLP was formally recognized as the 2013 IndyBar Paralegal of the Year.
