Allen Circuit Court is seeking qualified candidates for the position of magistrate.

The magistrate presides over domestic relations, civil and criminal cases as well as IV-D cases under the direction and supervision of the Allen Circuit Court judge. To qualify for the position, candidates must be admitted to the practice of law in Indiana; have experience in all areas of legal practice; and have the ability to work on several tasks at the same time and complete assignments effectively in an environment that has frequent distractions and interruptions.

Applications must be submitted electronically to Eric Zimmerman at [email protected] by 4:30 p.m. July 8. Any candidate who tenders an application agrees to accept the position of magistrate of the Allen Circuit Court if it is offered.

To request an application, contact Zimmerman through his email address. In addition to the application, candidates must provide an official transcript from their undergraduate study and law school. Transcripts need to be sent to the Allen Circuit Court, Attn.: Eric Zimmerman, 715 South Calhoun St., Room 300, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.

The court anticipates holding interviews the week of July 8 and choosing a candidate the week of July 15. The expected start date is Aug. 1.
