Ceremonies have been announced for judges transitioning off and on the Indiana Court of Appeals. A retirement ceremony for Judge Ezra H. Friedlander is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Indiana Supreme Court courtroom. Chief Judge Nancy H. Vaidik will preside.

Friedlander is retiring to senior judge status after 50 years practicing law, including more than 22 on the Court of Appeals. The ceremony will be webcast live and may be viewed online at www.in.gov/judiciary/2607.htm.

Marion Superior Judge Robert R. Altice is succeeding Friedlander and will be sworn in during a private ceremony on Sept. 1. A public robing ceremony for Altice is planned for Sept. 21 in the Supreme Court courtroom.
