Former Marion Superior Judge Robert Altice’s public robing ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Indiana Supreme Court courtroom, with Chief Justice Loretta Rush administering the oath to the state’s newest Court of Appeals judge.

The ceremony will be webcast here and archived for future viewing.

Altice, who officially joined the court in a private swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 2, will be robed by his parents, Robert and Louise Altice. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Nancy Vaidik will preside over the ceremony at which Justice Mark S. Massa and Court of Appeals Judge Cale J. Bradford will present Judge Altice to the 15-member Court of Appeals and assembled audience.

Altice served on the Marion Superior bench from 2000 until Gov. Mike Pence selected him in his first appointment to the appellate bench. Altice succeeded Judge Ezra Friedlander, who retired last month and will serve as a senior judge.
