An Indiana senior judge will begin presiding over the Hancock Circuit Court next month after the current judge leaves the bench.

The Indiana Supreme Court announced in a Monday order that Senior Judge Jeffrey C. Eggers will begin serving as judge pro tempore in Hancock County, effective Oct. 2. He will replace Judge Richard D. Culver, who notified the high court of his impending resignation on Oct. 1.

Eggers will continue his service in the Hancock Circuit Court until further order of the court or until an official successor to Culver takes office. The senior judge will be compensated at the same rate as the regular judge of the Hancock Circuit Court.
