Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Chancellor Charles R. Bantz announced the names of 14 people who will serve on a committee that will conduct a national search for Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law’s next dean. Dean Gary Roberts has announced that he will retire as dean in June 2013.

Retired Indiana Justice Theodore Boehm will lead the search committee. Other members include law school faculty, a federal judge and a law student.

The members, in addition to Boehm, are I.U. McKinney School of Law professors Cynthia M. Adams, Karen E. Bravo, Linda Kelly Hill, Antony Page and Carlton M. Waterhouse; David Bodenhamer, professor of history and executive director of The Polis Center; David W. Crabb, I.U. School of Medicine professor; James Gladden, dean of the I.U. School of Physical Education and Tourism Management; Jeff Linder, I.U. associate vice president for public affairs and government relations; U.S. District Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson; Krieg DeVault partner William R. Neale; Chasity Q. Thompson, assistant dean, I.U. McKinney School of Law Office of Professional Development; and Nabeela Virjee, J.D. candidate 2013.

“We are deeply committed to securing a highly qualified and diverse applicant pool for this key position,” Bantz said.

Roberts plans to remain on the law school faculty after retiring June 30, 2013. He joined the school as dean in 2007.
