A discussion about the many legal issues that can arise in the craft beer industry will be on tap at a special continuing legal education presentation Thursday in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Barrister Network is sponsoring a program that will examine how craft breweries can protect their brands. With beermakers increasingly getting into infringement disputes over their names and logos, this hourlong CLE will look at the basics of trademark law and the issues that come with registering marks.

Indiana has more than 135 craft breweries, according to the Brewers of Indiana Guild.

Battle of the Brew will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. April 20 at The Tap, 306 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis. Registration begins at 3:45 and a networking event will follow.
