After being knocked offline for two months because of technical issues, Indiana Court of Appeals arguments will be webcast again beginning Jan. 25.

The appellate court experienced issues with capturing video and audio at the end of November. It has installed a new portable live production system in its courtroom, which replaces an older model that was beyond repair, said Martin DeAgostino, communications director for the COA. The new model is on loan from the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System.

DeAgostino said that the new system will eventually allow for streaming in both high-definition video and the MP4 video format that is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

Arguments are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Joseph A. Davis vs. Herbert and Bui Simon, No. 49A04-1101-CT-5, in which Herbert and Bui Simon filed suit against California attorney Joseph Davis for defamation and false light publicity. Davis appeals the trial court’s denial of his motion to dismiss.
