Odyssey to shut down as Marion County transitions to system

June 13, 2014

The state-supported Odyssey case management system and its public online portal mycase.in.gov will go offline Friday evening as Marion County transfers its criminal cases into the system.

Judges of the Marion Superior Executive Committee heard an update on the conversion Friday that will entail shutting down the old system and a 20-hour process over the weekend to transfer case record data.

If the transfer goes as planned, Odyssey is expected to return to service by 6 a.m. Monday, according to a message on the site.

Marion County converted civil courts to Odyssey last year, and the conversion this weekend will involve transferring data from more than a half-million current and closed criminal cases, said Amitav Thamba, chief technology officer for the courts.

The move will retire the JUSTIS case management system Friday evening, Thamba said. The DOS-based system had been the workhorse of Indianapolis courts, handling electronic records since its implementation in 1988.
