Beginning Monday, county government offices will begin relocating from the historic courthouse to the new county annex building nearby. This includes the county clerk, county prosecutor, and the superior and circuit courts.
County officials anticipate the transition process could take up to two weeks to complete.
While the rest of the offices are transitioning permanently, the clerk, courts, and prosecutor are only moving temporarily.
Clinton County Prosecutor Anthony Sommer told The Indiana Lawyer that renovations on the historic courthouse will take about a year to complete, at which time the legal offices will move back into the courthouse.
While the offices are in the annex, the superior and circuit courts will only have access to one hearing room to conduct business. Sommer said the courts have adjusted their calendars to avoid scheduling conflicts.
