Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law will host a lecture by Leymah Gbowee, joint recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, on Feb. 16.
Gbowee, founder of the Liberian Mass Action for Peace, played a key role in ending Liberia’s Second Civil War. She is executive director of the Women Peace and Security in Africa (WIPSEN-Africa) and leads a newly established reconciliation process in Liberia.
Gbowee shared the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Tawakkol Karman of Yemen.
