Cody R. Williams has been suspended since July of 2019 for failing to cooperate with the commission’s investigation of some of the grievances filed against him. The nature of the grievances have not been disclosed in Supreme Court orders regarding Williams’ suspensions.
The court issued orders last August and last October lifting some of the suspension orders against Williams, but also added another noncooperation suspension order last October.
The commission moved to convert Williams’ status to indefinite suspension in January over his alleged noncooperation with its investigation of two grievances. Williams did not reply to the court’s subsequent Feb. 28 order giving him until March 30 to cure his noncooperation.
“The Court finds that more than ninety (90) days have passed since Respondent was suspended due to noncooperation with the disciplinary process. Accordingly, the Court concludes that Respondent’s suspension should be converted to an indefinite suspension from the practice of law … effective immediately,” the order says.
