McGrath, who was admitted to the Indiana bar in 2010, is currently in private practice with a focus on children and family law. According to the Times Union, she ran for Kosciusko Superior Court III in 2020. Chad Miner won the Republican primary with 37.30% of the vote and McGrath came in second with 33.81%.
In addition to her private practice, McGrath has served as a judge for teen court, a problem-solving court within the juvenile justice system that allows teens charged with certain offenses to be sentenced by a jury of their teen peers.
From 2011 to 2018, McGrath was deputy prosecutor for Kosciusko County.
She holds an undergraduate degree from Greenville College and a J.D. degree from Valparaiso Law School.
McGrath will be sworn in as judge at a later date.
