Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his appointment of Mark Telloyan to fill the vacancy left by retired Superior Court 7 Judge Steven Hostetler Thursday.
Telloyan, who was one of five finalists vying for the position, is a partner at O’Brien & Telloyan, where he focuses on bankruptcies. He also teaches at Notre Dame Law School, Grace College and Goshen College.
Prior to opening his law firm, Telloyan worked for the St. Joseph prosecutor’s office for two years and previously served as a law clerk for Judge Sanford Brook. He has also served on the St. Joseph County Council since 2015.
Telloyan graduated from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and received his law degree at Notre Dame Law School. He also obtained a Master of Arts from Minnesota State University and a Master of Education from Seattle Pacific University.
Telloyan will be sworn in on a date to be determined, according to a press release from the governor’s office.
The St. Joseph County Judicial Nominating Commission submitted the finalist names to Holcomb for consideration in November. Upon receiving the list of nominees, Holcomb had 60 days in which to make an appointment.
