Amendments have been made to the Indiana Rules for Admission to the Bar and Discipline of Attorneys, the Indiana Supreme Court has announced.

Justices in a Dec. 28 order amended Rule 23, regarding the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission and proceedings. The amendments specifically impact Sections 23.1 and 27, governing obligations of attorneys regarding service and attorney surrogates, respectively.

The changes remove any reference to the Supreme Court clerk and, where necessary, replace those references with the “Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Admissions and Continuing Education.” Now, notices of changes in contact information must go through the executive director, who will also be required to keep a list of designated attorney surrogates.

The amendments went into effect Jan. 1.
