12 charged in connection with drug operation run out of Westville Correctional Facility

Twelve people have been indicted for their alleged participation in a conspiracy to distribute drugs throughout central Indiana as part of an operation run by an inmate in the Westville Correctional Facility, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana.  

According to the indictment, the operation was led by inmate Justin Veal, 37, who orchestrated the distribution of methamphetamine, cocaine, Suboxone and fentanyl to customers in Anderson, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and other communities across the state. 

Veal was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute controlled substances.  

During a monthslong investigation into the offenses, law enforcement seized numerous pieces of physical evidence, including more than a dozen firearms, several hundred grams of drugs, high-value jewelry, 15 cellphones and two vehicles, according to the news release.  

The following individuals were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute controlled substances: 

  • Sade Butler, 27, of Indianapolis, who was identified as one of Veal’s co-conspirators 
  • Shawnlisa Nevels, 44, of Fort Wayne, who was identified as Veal’s other co-conspirator 
  • Adrian Swift, 39, of Indianapolis 
  • Bobby Young, 51, of Anderson 
  • Dontrell Cole, 24, of Indianapolis 
  • Jared Schloerb, 52, of Indianapolis 
  • Megan Daniels, 49, of Columbus 

Scott Foor, 45, of Indianapolis, was charged with distributing 50 grams of methamphetamine. Daquel Jones, 35, of Indianapolis, was charged with possession with intent to distribute 50 grams of methamphetamine. 

Dawud Quarles, 33, of Indianapolis, and Larry Craig, 54, of Indianapolis, were each charged with unlawful use of communication facility. 

The investigation into this case was led by the Crossroads of America Homeland Security Task Force.
