The state's Supreme Court has amended Indiana Criminal Rule 2.1 to require the prosecuting attorney to include fingerprint information when filing an appearance form in a criminal proceeding. The amendment takes effect Jan. 1, 2010.

The Sept. 29 order adds that county prosecuting attorneys shall also include the transactional control number associated with the fingerprints submitted by the arresting agency and the state identification number assigned to the defendant by the State Police Central Records Repository if the defendant has been arrested and processed at the jail.
