Subscribe NowKids' Voice of Indiana learned today the organization's application to become certified by the United Way has been approved. The certification process allows Kids' Voice to be eligible to receive funding from United Way, either through the general fund or through a specific donation to the organization.
"(Certification) makes the grantors that do give us funding feel very comfortable that we are who we say we are," Eddie Rivers told Indiana Lawyer. Rivers is Kids' Voice of Indiana and Children's Law Center of Indiana's president and CEO. "We are blessed to be chosen and approved by the board."
The application process took approximately a year and required several rounds of approval by different boards of the United Way.
Kids' Voice, an organization that works to promote and represent the best interest of children and serve as child advocates, will be added to the funding tree in 2009, Rivers said.
"We feel very excited about it," he said. "It gives us a chance to stabilize our giving and grant receiving."
