Mr. Maurer:

I read your editorial in this week’s (March 30-April 12, 2011) Indiana Lawyer and just wanted to say thanks! The current legislative agenda is about excluding anyone who is not white and Christian from participating fully in “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Although I have always counted myself as a Republican, I am too sickened by the recent Indiana legislative focus on “social issues” to want to continue as a Republican. I will hereafter be an independent and will never vote for any Republican or Democrat who subscribes to the notion that immigrants and homosexuals should be treated as sub-human beings. Thanks again!
