The United States Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Indiana has amended several local rules. In the Northern District, the Bankruptcy Court seeks comment on a proposed rule change.

Areas addressed by rule amendments in the Southern District include time limits, notices, and lien avoidance motions. A list of the amended rules is online. The amendments are effective June 1, and a revised complete set of the local rules will be posted on the court’s website that day.

The Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District is accepting comment on changes involving the employment of professionals by debtor-in possession rule, which would add a requirement that counsel for the debtor-in-possession be a registered Electronic Case Filing user and make all filings electronically. The proposed change is posted online

Comments should be sent to Christopher M. DeToro, Clerk of the Court, United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Indiana, 401 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN, 46601-2365; or emailed to [email protected].  Comments are due by June 20.
