The 9th annual Conference on Health, Disability and the Law at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis will examine youth with disabilities in the justice system. The conference aims to offer solutions to help address the needs of these juveniles, which aren’t always properly met within the corrections system, as well as recommend available resources for youth with disabilities in the juvenile justice system.

The keynote speakers of the June 17 event are Judith Storandt, senior staff attorney at the National Disability Rights Network; and Judge Steven Teske of the Clayton County Juvenile Court in Georgia. Presenters include Noble Superior Judge Michael Kramer and Michael Dempsey, executive director of the Division of Youth Services for the Indiana Department of Correction.

The deadline to register for the conference is June 12 and is $75 for professionals and those requiring continuing legal education credits. Six hours of CLE are available, pending approval. The conference is from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Inlow Hall and includes lunch. To register online, visit the law school’s website.
