Nov. 6 is National Love Your Lawyer Day, an occasion to celebrate attorneys for the good work they do, often without thanks, according to the American Lawyers Public Image Association.

The Florida-based nonprofit began celebrating Love Your Lawyer Day in 2001, and this year will mark the 15th annual celebration. It’s also the first time the American Bar Association endorsed the day and future celebrations annually on the first Friday of each November.

Attorneys are asked to provide one hour of pro bono service or donate to a charity on Nov. 6, while ALPIA also suggests, “no lawyer bashing/tasteless lawyer jokes allowed on that day.”
