Mother of severely malnourished twins reaches plea deal

An Anderson woman who allowed her 2-year-old twins to become so malnourished they couldn't walk, crawl or talk has agreed to plead guilty to child neglect charges.

Thirty-three-year-old Kim R. Robinson agreed Monday to plead guilty to neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury for her treatment of her twin daughters and their older sisters. She'll be sentenced April 11.

The Herald Bulletin reported Robinson’s 29-month-old twins were the size of 7-month-olds when they were hospitalized last June.

Deputy Prosecutor Jesse Miller said the twins couldn’t speak or eat solid foods. Miller said they had thinning bones and were unable to crawl or stand.

Their father, Stephen E. Auker, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in November after pleading guilty to child neglect.
