The St. Joseph County jury reached the guilty verdict Thursday on a murder charge against 17-year-old Tyre Bradbury.
Prosecutors charged Bradbury with providing the handgun which fired the shot that killed 2-year-old John Swoveland Jr. in April 2014 as he played outside several blocks away.
Defense attorney Brendan Lahey says he is disappointed by the verdict. He says Bradbury wasn't a member of a criminal gang but was part of a loose group of friends.
Bradbury was among eight men and teenagers charged in the toddler's death. Six others, including convicted gunman Robert Griffin, have been sentenced.
