A northeastern Indiana judge who's also a National Guard member will be deployed to Cuba this summer to help with the litigation team that prosecutes Guantanamo Bay detainees.
Whitley Superior Court Judge Douglas Fahl, who's a military judge for the Indiana Army National Guard, will be working in support of Joint Task Force Guantanamo.
The News-Sentinel reports Fahl will serve on the litigation support team that's responsible for prosecuting detainees and responding to requests for their release from detention.
Fahl leaves for training in July. His deployment is expected to last 270 days.
Fahl is a major in the Indiana Army National Guard Advocate General Corps and the brigade judge advocate for the Shelbyville-based 38th Combat Aviation Brigade.
