A Richmond man has been sentenced to 76 years in prison for kidnapping his estranged wife two years ago.

Wayne Superior Judge Charles Todd Jr. sentenced 49-year-old Todd A. Stigleman on Monday. The Richmond Palladium-Item reported that Stigleman indicated he would appeal. He was sentenced on four felony kidnapping charges and two felony stalking charges.

Jurors convicted Stigleman on April 8, finding him guilty of abducting his estranged wife in April 2014. Stigleman is accused of blocking her vehicle with his car and forcing his way into her vehicle before driving to the western part of Wayne County, where Hagerstown police found them.

Stigleman was given credit for 537 days served. His defense attorney recommended a 71-year sentence.
