Electronic filing is now available for more than 40 civil and criminal case types in Grant County, making the northern Indiana county the 18th in the state to adopt the e-filing system.

E-filing will become mandatory in the Grant Circuit and Superior Courts on Dec. 2, joining 13 other counties across the state. Additionally, the e-filing system is voluntary in four other counties, including Jackson, Johnson, Morgan and Wells.

The Huntington, Clay and Marion circuit and superior courts are each expected to adopt voluntary e-filing later this month and mandatory e-filing by the end of December.  Mandatory e-filing is scheduled to be adopted statewide by January 2018.
