The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana is seeking public comments on a proposed change to one of its local rules.

The proposed amendment to Local Rule B-7054-1, which relates to costs, would remove the following language: “A party who has been allowed to recover costs pursuant to Fed. R. Bankr. P. 7054 shall have thirty (30) days from the entry of a final judgment to file requests for the taxation of costs. This time may be extended by the court for good cause shown. Failure to file such requests or to obtain leave of court for extensions of time within which to file shall be deemed a waiver of the right to make such requests.”

Comments on the removal of that language are due to the bankruptcy court by Sept. 22. Any comments or suggestions can be sent via email to [email protected] or via mail to Christopher M. DeToro, Clerk of Court, United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Indiana, 401 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601. The clerk can also be reached at 574-968-2100.
