Senior Judge Jeffrey C. Eggers will serve as judge pro tempore in the Cumberland Town Court, the Indiana Supreme Court announced in an order last week.

“The Court has been informed of the passing of the Honorable Leroy M. Wheeler, Judge of the Cumberland Town Court,” the court wrote in its order issued Wednesday. Wheeler, 70, died Jan. 25. A longtime attorney, Wheeler had served as judge of the Cumberland Town Court for the past six years.

Eggers will serve as Cumberland Town Court judge until a successor is named or until further order of the Indiana Supreme Court.
