Two senior judges will begin serving as Noble County judges pro tempore this month after the sitting circuit court judge announced he will be temporarily unavailable to perform his duties.

The Indiana Supreme Court announced April 27 that Noble Circuit Judge Michael J. Kramer will be temporarily unable to perform his duties beginning Monday. In his place, senior judges G. David Laur and George E. Brown, Jr. will each serve a term as the circuit court judge pro tem.

Laur will serve in the Noble Circuit Court from May 7 to May 31, and Brown will begin his term on June 1. Brown will continue to serve as judge pro tem until further order of the court.

Both senior judges will have authority to continue the employment of court personnel and to discharge judicial duties. They will also be paid at the same rate as a regular judge beginning on the effective dates of their appointments.
