Attorneys interested in filling vacancies on the Monroe Circuit Court and Terre Haute City Court have just days remaining to make their interest known. Wednesday, Sept. 5 is the deadline to submit applications for Gov. Eric Holcomb’s appointments to both positions.

Veteran Monroe Circuit Judge Kenneth G. Todd announced earlier this month he will retire from Monroe Circuit Court III on Oct. 15. Todd has served more than 40 years on the trial court bench in Bloomington, and Holcomb’s appointee will fill the remainder of Todd’s seventh elected term, through 2020.

Applications also are being accepted for the judgeship in Terre Haute City Court. The Indiana Supreme Court earlier this month appointed attorney Kim Antcliff Jackson of Cory as judge pro tempore, replacing Judge Chris A. Wrede, who will take the role of chief deputy prosecutor in Vermillion County, the Tribune Star of Terre Haute reported. Holcomb appointed Wrede to the city court bench in April 2017. Wrede previously served 10 years with the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office as a deputy prosecutor.

Qualified applicants for either judgeship may email applications to Holcomb’s office at [email protected] or mail hard copy applications to Governor’s Office, Attn: Joseph R. Heerens, State House Room 206, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. Applications are available here.
