Charges have been refiled against a northwestern Indiana woman accused of arranging the 2012 shooting death of a business associate.

The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports that Porter County Prosecutor Brian Gensel says charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder were refiled against 48-year-old Sheaurice Major as a result of new evidence. She’s jailed after being taken into custody Monday.

Court records don’t list a lawyer for Major in the new case.

A judge granted dismissal of charges in 2017 after Gensel said investigators weren’t able to establish enough evidence linking Major to the killing of 72-year-old Carl Griffith, Sr. on Nov. 1, 2012.

Dontaye Singletary of Gary was sentenced in February 2015 to 65 years in prison for Griffith’s death. Major is accused of hiring Singletary to kill Griffith.
