Applications open for Kosciusko, Posey judgeships

January 23, 2019

Lawyers interested in trial court judgeships in two Indiana counties have three weeks left to apply for vacancies to be filled by appointment by Gov. Eric Holcomb.

The vacancies will exist in Kosciusko and Posey Counties. Applications are being accepted until 5 p.m. Feb. 13 for superior court judgeships at the courthouses in Warsaw in northern Indiana and Mt. Vernon in southwestern Indiana.

The appointments will fill vacancies existing due to the General Assembly’s creation last year of a new Kosciusko Superior Court 4 and by the pending retirement of Posey Superior Judge S. Brent Almon. The new Kosciusko Superior Court will begin operating July 1. Almon, who has served on the Posey trial court bench since 2003, is scheduled to retire effective Feb. 28.

Applications should be sent to the Governor’s Office, preferably via email to judicialapplications@gov.in.gov, or by hard copy to Governor’s Office, Attn: Joseph R. Heerens, State House Room 206, Indianapolis 46204.
