Attorneys in Cass and Hancock counties interested in being considered to fill judicial vacancies will have until almost the end of the month to make their interest known to Gov. Eric Holcomb.

The early retirement of Hancock Superior 1 Judge Terry Snow creates an opening on the bench in Greenfield, while the accidental death last month of Cass Superior Judge Richard Maughmer leaves an appointment for Holcomb to make in the courthouse in Logansport.

Snow, 71, had not planned to seek re-election next year, but he told The Daily Reporter of Greenfield last month that he decided to retire early. A judge since 2002, Snow previously served as Hancock County prosecutor.

The deadline to apply for either judgeship is Oct. 30. Qualified attorneys interested in being considered for either vacancy can find more details and application information here.
