As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndiana Gov. Mike Braun has picked prosecutor Joshua Otto Schalk to fill a vacancy on the Harrison County Superior Court that will be created after Judge Joseph Claypool retires Sept. 8.
Schalk currently serves as the Harrison County prosecutor and has been elected to four terms after first being elected at age 25, according to a statement issued Tuesday by the governor’s office.
Schalk said in the statement that he “will uphold the Constitution, apply the law impartially, and carry out the responsibilities of this office with integrity, fairness, and respect for all who come before the court.”
Schalk became prosecutor for the southern Indiana county in 2011, according to the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and received his law degree from the University of Dayton.
