A Muncie man faces more than 50 years in prison after being convicted of molesting two children on multiple occasions.

Delaware County Circuit Judge Douglas Mawhorr on Monday sentenced Charles A. Wallace, 60, to a total of 56 years in prison, according to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office.

The court also found Wallace to be a sexually violent predator.

After the sentencing hearing, Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman said in a news release, “It is very fitting that a jury composed of 12 members of the community found Wallace guilty in April – Child Abuse Prevention Month.”

A Delaware County jury deliberated for approximately three hours before convicting Wallace of five counts of child molesting.

In a sworn police affidavit, a Yorktown Police Department officer reported she took statements in March 2018 from two minors that Wallace had molested them on multiple occasions.

Wallace admitted to police that he had molested both minors, according to the affidavit.
