Let’s get back to business! Join me Oct. 13-16 for the Defense Research Institute Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Boston Hotel for four days of networking, building business, meeting new friends, reconnecting with old friends and benefiting from educational programs.

Boston is incredible. It is a perfect city to share with your family and friends. The city is filled with social venues and attractions. Visit the sites of the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”) is moored in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The first shots of the Revolutionary War occurred in nearby Lexington and Concord. The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is also located in Boston.

What would a DRI annual meeting be without networking? Join us to build your business and connect with more than 700 civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel at a variety of networking events. These include a reception for new members, the Wednesday welcome reception, the Thursday reception at Lucky Strike Fenway, the DRI Veterans Network Lunch, the Diversity and Inclusion and Women in the Law Networking Luncheon and the Friday night President’s Gala.

This year’s educational agenda features innovative sessions on timely topics such as diversity, anti-racism, “The Future of the Legal Profession Post-COVID” and the influence of social media on how people think. The lineup of speakers is amazing: author Renee DiResta of the Stanford Internet Observatory, futurist author Brian David Johnson of Arizona State University and Kristin Beck, a retired United States Navy SEAL.

In addition, you can earn up to nine hours of continuing legal education, including two hours of ethics credit. You will also have the opportunity to attend tailored workshops, specific to areas intended to enhance litigation skills, business development strategies, self-promotion and branding. Attendance at the workshops will be limited to 50 people to ensure interactive learning.

Register before Sept. 15 to save $100 and take advantage of the special group hotel rate of $319 single/double occupancy. Discounted airfare is also available.

If you are not already a member of DRI, I encourage you to join and attend the upcoming meeting in October in Boston.
