The Indiana State Police Cold Case Squad and the FBI have made an arrest in a 1993 murder in Gibson County.

On Tuesday, investigators arrested Timothy R. Farber, 61, of Evansville, for the alleged murder of 63-year-old Norman Ellerbrook.

Ellerbrook was found murdered in his residence on Sept. 2, 1993. Authorities said he died from blunt force trauma to the head and was stabbed multiple times.

Investigators recently revisited the murder after years of attempting to solve the crime. Authorities said new DNA analysis helped connect Farber to the murder.

WFIE-TV in Evansville reported Farber’s DNA was found on Ellerbrook’s fingernails, a knife in the sink and on a rag in the family room of Ellerbrook’s home.

Farber was arrested without incident Tuesday in Evansville and taken to the Gibson County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
