Sarah Baker

By Sarah Baker, Cohen Garelick & Glazier PC

We all know the importance of taking those lunches with our attorney colleagues to network and grow our professional circle, but we often forget about the importance of simply spending time with our colleagues to learn about them as regular people. Work is busy, life is busy, and it is easy to lose sight of spending time with one another outside of work. Let the IndyBar Foundation help you do just that. Outside of funding a multitude of community organizations to further access to justice, the foundation also works hard to put together events that allow the legal community to come together in relaxed and fun atmospheres. Here are a couple of those upcoming events!

Winter was long and cold. The sun is finally out! Come celebrate the unofficial start of summer at the IndyBar’s Block Party on May 23, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. at IndyBarHQ, hosted by the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. This event, presented by Hurst Limontes LLC, is always well-attended and lively. Grab a drink and catch up with your colleagues. Enjoy a treat from Nicey Treat, a local favorite serving up frozen pops featuring unique flavors and all natural ingredients. You could also relax and listen to our own private band, Chick Grizzly. Chick Grizzly is an Indianapolis-based cover band specializing is having a good time, all the time. This is one of the IndyBar Foundation’s more relaxed events, so come for just a bit or stay for a while. There will be games like cornhole, light refreshments, and each ticket comes with two free drink tickets. We all work hard and need to take the time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We also need to remember to spend time with our colleagues outside of the professional setting. This kick-off event will allow you to do just that! Plus, as a special surprise to our attendees, our sponsor will be raffling off four lower-level seats to an Indiana Fever Home Game, all proceeds of which benefit the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. Come on out to the event and maybe score some tickets to see the great Caitlin Clark play! Register here to join the fun at www.indybar.org/blockparty.

Cannot make it to the Block Party, but still want to catch up with friends and colleagues, or even better, just want to attend yet another fun-filled night with IndyBar? Join us at Trivia Night returning to this year’s annual Bench Bar Conference in French Lick and sponsored by Johnson Jensen LLP. The conference runs June 13-15, 2024. Trivia Night will take place on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 9 to 11 p.m. For just $25.00, you can compete with the best in trivia hosted by none other than Adam Christensen! Take a break from all the learning, grab a cocktail, and show off your trivia skills. Register at www.indybar.org/benchbar.•
